Sound for the week: /ch/ as the sounds of a soda pop can, ch when you open it, k when you push the tab back, sh when the fuzz comes... if you have questions please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

Guided Reading: First grade is starting Guided Reading tomorrow. Each child will find out who their reading teacher is and what is expected of them during the Reading block time. We will be sending an informational letter home informing you of who your child's reading teacher is. Please look for it sometime this week.

In math, we have been working, exploring, and reviewing the following skills: counting by 2's to at least 50, counting by 5's to at least 100, identifying and describing shapes, and most recently working with tally marks.

Again if you have any questions, please contact us.
Thank you!

Miss Gardner's class

Thank you for being flexible and looking at the website daily for annoucements! I will try to post by 2 p.m. daily.

I am sorry if you got confused about our birthdays and the snack calendar. If your child's birthday falls on a school day and you would like to send snacks please send it on that day even if there is someone else's name. When that happens we will just have 2 snacks on those days.

Everyone has been doing good! tThey are adjusting well. I am very excited for our first full day of school tomorrow! We will be having P.E. and Music tomorrow, so wear tennis shoes.

Again if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me either by my email address or call Garfield's main number. The contact information is on a previous post .
Thank you!
